Stop destroying my Bingo - what you and Britain's Bingo fans need to know

Stop Destroying my Bingo

YOUR FAVOURITE PASTIME IS SET FOR A BAD TIME, AS THE GOVERNMENT FAILS TO REALISE EXACTLY HOW, LITTLE BY LITTLE, IT IS DESTROYING BINGO. BINGO IS BEING TREATED UNFAIRLY IN A NUMBER OF WAYS BY THIS GOVERNMENT:

TAKING TOO MUCH TAX

Bingo is one of the highest taxed gambling activities in the UK, paying more than most other forms of gambling, including the bookies.

Should Gordon Brown reduce the unfair burden on Bingo? YES.

INCREASING COSTS OF RUNNING BINGO

The law needs a Bingo club to have a number of licences to operate. The cost of getting these licences is, with the introduction of the new Gambling Act, set to increase drastically.

Should the Government leave your prize money on the board and look for extra money elsewhere? YES.

LOSS OF CHOICE

Currently your Bingo club can offer you an exciting range of games and machines. Under the new gambling laws, which come into effect in September, your choice and the range available will decrease.

Do you want your club to be able to offer you new games and machines in addition to the existing product? YES.

DECLINE OF LOCAL COMMUNITY

All these things combined together with the ban on smoking, will make it harder and harder to run Bingo clubs, which are at the heart of your local community.

Should the Government support your game, keep Bingo clubs and local communities alive and allow you to carry on playing the game you love? YES.

YOU NEED TO ACT NOW.

Let the Government know how you feel about your Bingo and your local club by contacting your MP today. Find out who your local MP is!

In any given week, thousands of people go to work in Bingo clubs up and down the country, and thousands more enjoy playing. Fact is, your Bingo Club is more than just a place where you go to shout ‘House!’ - It’s your meeting place, your community, where you go for a chat, a laugh, to put the world to rights and to play Bingo.

IT MAY BE THE ONLY CHANCE YOU GET.
